You are entitled to a pension supplement if:

  • You have been in a custodial institution or forced exile (including children born there), also, when you have been held as a prisoner of war, or in concentration camps or ghettos during the Second World War (you will receive a pension supplement of 20 per cent of the national pension rate;
  • You are incapacitated for work as a result of a nuclear disaster, nuclear test, or an accident at a nuclear power station (you will receive a pension supplement of 10 per cent of the national pension rate).

If you participated in the clean-up of a nuclear disaster, nuclear test, or an accident at a nuclear power station, the causal relationship between the accident and the illness causing the loss of the working ability shall be determined by expert analysis conducted by the Estonian National Social Insurance Board.

When you have worked as an official, you will get a supplement to your old-age pension as follows:

  • 10% for 10-15-years of service;
  • 20% for 16-20-years of service;
  • 25% for 21-25-years of service;
  • 40% for 26-30-years of service;
  • 50% for service exceeding 30 years.

When you have worked at the rescue services, you will get a supplement to your old-age pension as follows:

  • 10% for 10-15-years of rescue service
  • 20% for 16-20-years of rescue service
  • 25% for 21-25-years of rescue service
  • 40% for 26-30-years of rescue service
  • 50% for rescue service exceeding 30 years
